Driver Training on Gravel Roads

Driver Training on Gravel Roads (Calder Park – Melbourne)

Performance Driving Australia design and deliver Gravel Driver Training courses that are suitable for any driver who has to operate a vehicle on unsealed/loose roads.

The gravel driving program is closely aligned with our standard Defensive Driving Program but all practical content is delivered on gravel / loose surface roads allowing drivers to experience the lower grip levels and how they effect vehicle performance in a range of scenarios.

Suitable for drivers operating in regional areas with frequent travel on unsealed roads, the course focuses on the general handling, emergency braking and car control skills on these road surfaces.

Drivers can also achieve a nationally recognised qualification to be issued at the completion of the course.

The available units include –

  • RIIVEH201D – Operate Light Vehicle
  • TLIB2004 – Carry out Vehicle Inspection
  • TLIC1051 – Operate Commercial Vehicle
  • TLIC3036 – Apply safe Car Driving Behaviours
  • TLIU3014 – Operate Vehicles in an Environmentally Sustainable Manner

If drivers complete the 4WD Training package along with this gravel driving course they will also qualify for –

  • RIIVEH305E – Operate and Maintain a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle
  • TLIC2025 – Operate Four Wheel Drive Vehicle
  • PMASUP236 – Operate Vehicles in the Field

All passenger vehicles in Australia delivered after November 2013 are fitted standard with ABS and ESP systems. Understanding how these work on gravel roads is essential to safe driving.

Performance Driving Australia gravel driving programs can be delivered at your site or at one of our preferred venues around Australia.

Training can also be catered to suit specific drivers experience levels, type of vehicles and operational requirements.

4WD Training can also be included if required with this course.
